Descendants of Thomas Besbeech (Bisbee) of Scituate, Duxbury and Sudbery, Massachussets
Peacefully passed away December 10, 2014 at the age of 82 with family members by his side. Jerry was born in Mount Morris, MI on May 16, 1932, son of the Claud and Vela (Minton) Merrell. He married his beloved wife Nancy Hunsaker on July 11, 1953. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his return from service he would spend 40 years as a Tool Maker at AC Spark Plug and served for the UAW Local 651 as an Employment Assistance Rep., retiring in 1995.
Jerry was actively involved in the local AA chapter helping and sponsoring many individuals for over 40 years. Jerry was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Mount Morris, as well as being involved in the American Legion (post 413) Jerry and his wife enjoyed spending time with their family, and spending their winters in Avon Park, Florida. Jerry had a quick wit and always had a joke or story to share. He enjoyed spending time with dear family and friends.
A burial service was held at Riverside Cemetery in Alma, MI. A celebration of Life, with Military Honors, will be held on December 23, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 5375 W. Mt. Morris Rd., and Pastor Doug Klein Officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service.
