  Lynn Melvin Bisbee stood 5'-10" tall, was of medium build, and had light brown hair and hazel-green eyes. He attended elementary and high school in Union City, graduating in 1937. He was a bright and popular student, holding several student government positions. Even before graduation, he was earning money playing saxophone in local dance bands. He was part of a family band, the "Rhythm Makers," featuring Lynn on sax, sister Helen on piano, brother Clair on drums, and sister-in-law Florence on violin. His dream of becoming an aviator was dashed when damaged ear drums, the result of a childhood infection, kept him out of World War II. During the war he worked for his father-in-law, J. R. Dunnihoo (Rohlm Manufacturing), producing fuel system components for US fighter aircraft. In the late 1940's he joined the Diesel-Electric (Locomotive) Division of the General Electric Company in Erie, working as a machinist, sheet metal fabricator, and layout designer. Like his father and brother, Lynn was a talented framer, carpenter and joiner. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed occasional fishing trips to Canada, and annual deer hunting trips into the Allegheny Mountains. Lynn greatly enjoyed cooking for family get-togethers, and is especially remembered for his venison dishes, clam chowder and lobster, all served with plenty of ice cold beer. Lynn was only 58 years old when he succumbed to cancer. He is buried with his parents, grandparents and great grandparents in Wattsburg Cemetery on Jamestown Road, Wattsburg, Pennsylvania.
