Obituary, October, 1996, Star Beacon. CONCORD TOWNSHIP--Charles G. Bisbee, 64,died Thursday, Oct. 17, 1996, at Meridia Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights. Born Nov. 5, 1931, in Conneaut, he was a son of Raymond H. and Bertha Bisbee. A former resident of Timberlake and Willoughby, he had lived in the township for 12 years. Mr. Bisbee was a security guard for the Cleveland Convention Center, retiring in 1992 after 23 years of service. He also worked for Cleveland Municipal Stadium from 1962 to 1989. Prior to that, he was a Timberlake police officer from 1965 to 1968, and worked for Nickel Plate Railroad. Mr. Bisbee was a sergeant in the U. S. Army, serving in Korea from 1952 to 1954. He was former president of the Service Employees International Union Local 85 in Cleveland. Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy C. Pond, three sons, Elmer Brooks of Willoughby, Donald "Sonny" Bisbee of Madison, and Robert "Skip" Bisbee of Columbus; three daughters, Edith "Dee" Smith of Geneva, Sheila O'Toole of Lakewood, and Polly Bisbee of Concord Township; 27 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Schweikert of Winston Salem, N.C., Alice Donahue of New Port Richey, Fla., and Marilyn Jennings of Conneaut; and three brothers, Raymond of Conneaut, William of Sylvania, and Richard Bisbee of Pensacola, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David J. Bisbee; and two grandchildren, Raymond Lester and Tina Marie Bisbee. Service is 10 a.m. Monday at the Davis Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby, with the Rev. John M. Sykes officiating. Burial is in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lake County Unit, 1314 Painesville 44077.
