Text | "Neal L. Bisbee, 75, 10205 Jamestown Road, Wattsburg, died Tuesday, March 23, 1993" "He was Born in Wattsburg, Sept. 2, 1917, a son of the late Fred and Pearl Stager Bisbee. "Mr. Bisbee was raised and educated in the Corry area. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force as a pilot and flew a B-17 bomber during World War II in the European Theater. After his discharge, he returned to the Wattsburg area. "He had worked as a color specialist in the photo lab at General Electric Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1978. At his home, Sycamore Acres, in Wattsburg, he had many of his photos on display, and he also gave many slide presentations throughout the area. "Mr. Bisbee was a member of the National Audubon Society in Erie, the Wattsburg Cemetery Association and the Wattsburg Historical Society, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed gardening, painting and was a photographer of nature and wildlife. "He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Allen, Nina Houser and Doris Shampoe; and two brothers, Donald Bisbee and Roy Bisbee. "Survivors include his wife, Jessie Phelps Bisbee, whom he married March 12, 1946, in Erie; a sister, Margaret Mitchell of Elgin; a brother, Harold Bisbee of North East; and several nieces and nephews. "Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, Corry, tonight from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. John Edwards of Erie officiating. "Burial will be at Wattsburg Cemetery. "Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice." | |
