1939-12-07: Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Brown and daughter, Doris, visited Friday evening with the Elmer Bisbee family in Spencer.

1941-07-31: The following families enjoyed a picnic dinner a Gull Point Sunday Afternoon in honor of Mr.s and Mrs. Dale Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Brown and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor and family of Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bisbee and family of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Blum and family of near Milford.

1942-07-02: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bisby of Spencer announce the approaching marriage of their daugher, Miss Esther Helen Bisby of Spencer to Roland Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Brown of Spirit Lake. The ceremony will be at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, July 11 at the First Congregational church in Spencer.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Spencer high school. She was employed a librarian in the Spence Library, and later was high school librarian for two years.

Mr. Brown attended the Spirit Lake high school and since completing his schooling has assisted his father in the operation of his farm north of Spirit Lake. The couple will be at home following their July marriage at a home in readiness for them on the I. W. Brown farm.

1942-07-16: Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Brown and family and Mr. and Mrs Milford Trullinger and Vera and Mrs. Geo. Meyers attended the wedding ceremony and reception of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Brown Saturday in Spencer. (Wedding article clipped separately.)

1942-07-30: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bisbee of Spencer spent last Sunday at the home of their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Roland Brown.

1942-10-15: Mrs. Roland Brown went to Dickens on Tuesday for a short visit with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Bisbee. In company with Mr. and Mrs. Bisbee she drove to Centerville, Iowa, for a few days to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Condra.

1942-10-22: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bisbee of Spencer were visitors on Sunday of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Brown. They celebrated Mrs. Bisbee's Birthday anniversary.
