During a storm in mid-Atlantic, Mayflower passenger John Howland fell overboard.
He managed to grab a trailing rope and other passengers pulled him
back aboard. John was an ancestor of mine and I often wonder: if he had missed
that rope and drowned, would I still have been born? -- Webmaster.
