Text "Samuel Charles Bisbee, 92, of Cisco, died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday in Cisco Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. Services were held at 2 P.m. Monday in Kimbrough Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Mayberry, Pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, and the Rev. John Wood, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery. Born Feb. 22, 1887, in Waterford (sic), Penn., he moved to Cisco at an early age with his family. He married Mittie Nix July 28, 1911, in the Mitchell community. He worked at the Cisco pottery plant after moving to Cisco in the early 1940's. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mittie; two daughters, Faye Owings and Ruth Lamb, both of Cisco; three sons, Bill of Clyde, C. L. of Andrews, and Wilburn of Midland; a sister, Mrs. W. L. Nix of Cisco; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren."

This monograph was written from materials provided by other members of the family after a trip back East to learn about their heritage. C. L. Bisbee appears to have done no origianal research, and much of the information about the early Bisbee settlers in this country is wrong. However, there is reason to believe the information he provides about his own immediate family is true and accurate. Copy provided by Mae Williams Bisbee, Cisco, Texas, April 24th, 1998.
