  • Notes
    • In 1942 at age 58, Curtis was living at RD1 in Cambridge Springs where he was a farmer. He stood 5'-9" tall, weighed 150 lbs, had blues eyes and gray hair with ruddy complexion and a tatoo on his right arm, "C. C. B."

About 1903, Curtis Bisbee married Dorothy Drake with whom he had two children, George and Myrl. They divorced and in 1910 Curtis remarried to Dorothy's cousin, Macie Ellen Drake. Curtis eventually had eight more children with Macie.

Meanwhile his ex-wife Dorothy, or Dot as she was known, along with her father (Henry) and youngest son Myrl, moved in with her cousin Charlie P. Drake (Macie's brother). Sometime after 1910, Dot married Henry Perry and they moved into 9 Johnson Street in Union City. There they both worked at the Union City chair factory, and raised George and Myrle, along with Henry's son from a previous marriage. [6, 9]

Celinda J. Bisbee, the former Celinda J. Thompson, provides statements that she was married on 19 Feb 1869, near Wattsburg, Pennsylvania, by Minister of the Gospel, Bryan S. Hill, and that neither she nor Ephraim had been previously married. She cannot provide documented proof of her marriage, because Rev. Hill has died and, according to Hill's wife, he did not keep records. Ruth A. Reynolds, Charles A. Bisbee, Curtis C. Bisbee and others testify that they were present at her marriage and confirm the date, place and by whom.
