Over 20 yrs ago, I was in a Catholic Ministries Thrift Store in San Bernardino, CA, in advance of 1/2 price day. While talking to the clerk, I spied a sepia portrait in an embroderied frame. It was so evocative that I couldn't put it down, and the lady had a heart that such a thing would wind up homeless, and gave it to me for the lower sum.
At home, I opened it and found an inscription in copperplate handwriting: Junius Frederick Bisbee, Bn April 8, 1875. Imagine my shock as that is my birth date as well. I have loved this photo for a long time; it's velvet is about gone, but Junius is still standing by, looking like a little girl, resolute in the face of the camera.
I would love to re-unite this with any family left behind by the passing of the older generation. If no one is interested, so be it! I can put down this pintard!
Best wishes, Vicki Hall
